Actor Dinesh Thakur passed away!


Eminent character actor of Hindi film Dinesh Thakur passed away today morning in Mumbai.  He was 65, survived by actor-wife Prita Mathur.  After fighting a long fight against severe kidney ailment, the veteran actor finally defeated; as per family source, recently the actor was admitted to a suburban hospital in Andheri, and where he breathed his last.
Dinesh Thakur was more familiar in theatre, both as actor and director.  Also he made a theatre group called ANK Productions almost three decades back, which is still vibrant in the theatre world delivering several hit plays in different times. In film he will always be remembered for his strong character acting.  Films like ‘Mere Apne’, ‘Ghar’ and ‘Rajanigandha’ carry his best sign of works.  Dinesh Thakur was also a good story writer, who received Filmfare Best Story Award in 1979 for ‘Ghar’.  As per reports, the veteran actor’s funeral held today afternoon at Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai.
