Ranbir to play Kishore Kumar!

If everything falls in place, a film on legendary singer Kishore Kumar could go on to the floor next year.  As per latest, director Anurag Basu is presently working on the script.  His just released film ‘Barfi’ is receiving huge critical acclaims; also Ranbir, who plays a deaf-mute character in the film getting huge appreciation for his excellent performance. If the film analysts to be believed, ‘Barfi’s success has been possible only because of the high comfort level between Anurag and Ranbir; at the end of the day, which actually pays off. In a recent interview, Anurag clearly mentioned that he wants Ranbir Kapoor in the Kishore Kumar biopic. In fact Anurag is eagerly waiting to work with Ranbir again.  Ranbir too is very keen to play Kishore Kumar.  And when the director is Anurag Basu, whom Ranbir often calls as new Satyajit Ray, the thing is bound to click.  On asking how it would feel playing Kishore Kumar, Ranbir said, “I am very afraid as an actor and I am also very excited.” “Kishore Kumar is a legend who you cannot mess with.  People want to see his life celebrated on screen,” Ranbir added.  As per director’s part is concerned, Ranbir thinks no other than Anurag Basu can make the biopic better. “I want to do it with a man as crazy as Kishore Kumar, as talented as Kishore Kumar, as mad as Kishore Kumar.  Anurag is the perfect guy to direct the film,” said Ranbir in the interview.  Ranbir is now busy shooting Ayan Mukherji’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ with Deepika Padukone.  After that he will do Abhinav Kashyap’s ‘Besharam’ and then Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’.  However Ranbir confirmed that dates would not be a problem for Kishore Kumar biopic.
